Tending the Soil: A Leadership Reflection Guide

I’m a real summer girl, and the excitement of hiking, gardening, paddle boarding, and long, lazy evenings on the hammock calls to me all year long. Summer is when we take vacations, cut our days a little short to make our community softball games, and nurturing backyard garden patches with children and grandchildren.
Our work keeps moving. But sometimes, with our eyes on the sunshine, we take our eyes off the goals we set at work. As back-to-school start dates herald the coming fall and more rigid schedules, we start turning our attention back to the task at hand.
For me, that can feel overwhelming. The to-do list never ends. The goal is yet to be achieved.
Sometimes, it seems like you haven’t made any progress, and the next step feels too nebulous.
At The Wellman Way, LLC, we are just like you and your teams. We have to come together to reflect on the work we are doing, what we have achieved, and reorient to the landscape. I created a short, 15-minute reflection guide for our team. They loved it so much that we thought we should share it with you.
As an individual, you can take a few minutes, reflect on your work, and move toward your next steps. If you have a team, you can use this guide as your "icebreaker" (I use that term loosely) at your next team meeting. The guide includes specific facilitation instructions for teams.
I know that you spent the summer blooming, and now it is time to tend the garden and prepare for your next crop!
I hope you enjoy the reflection and it makes you think deeper about yourself!
Talk soon,
Heather
